I always find that figuring out which metric people are optimizing for tells you where their values lie. If only the same people cared about maximizing recall on social services.

I barely ever use the debugger, and I can't tell if it's a skill issue for me or if it's just not as important in languages like Python

Yup. Also, it's been proposing some bad ideas to me this week (e.g. implementations with weird side effects), and I've been having to explain to it why it's wrong!

It’s actually not a big deal for me — I wfh a couple days per week, and my office is fairly empty. Soooo, I think I have no excuse not to try!
