A cheap, easy but highly effective way to purify air from smoke or viruses within a room is a Corsi-Rosenthal Box. All items & materials can be stored away & assembled to make a CR box in only a few minutes. Preferred rating of Merv 13 & thickness of 2 inches for the filters for optimal protection.

Even after a fire has been extinguished, nasty stuff will still linger in the air and more will be kicked up as you walk and clean through an area.

These next photos are some additional references. First is the differences between the colored respirator filters and what they protect against. The second picture is the recommended protection to wear if you were to go back and search through burned out residential or commercial areas.

I bought a 3M painters respirator (WF A) on sale at my local Home Depot. The filter cartridges that come with it won’t be good enough to protect from the dangers of wildfire smoke so I had to upgrade those.

MaskD is ElastoMaskPro. I bought one online with extra filters and interested in trying it out & giving it a review when it arrives. It uses replacement filter pucks that insert from the inside. They can be bought at reusable-respirators.com & there’s a sale on the masks to the end of January.

Mask A is simple, 3 layer medical disposables. I keep them on me or in my car in case a primary or secondary mask gets dirty, a strap breaks, running into a gas station to pay for gas etc. or wear doubled up for more relaxed wearing when around others who’ve also been regularly masking.
