I made a double batch of huge oatmeal muffins w/ sour cherries & orange drizzle, picked up a big bag of locally roasted coffee & dropped them off at my local firehouse.

That nice gent is the nurse who was there administering flu shots to the firefighters.

As a tired and perpetually politically outraged, middle-aged person, the idea of normal “precedented” times is freaking lovely. But I’m sure we’re trying to get other demographics here. What are we doing to engage previously non-voting people, and young people? What should they be excited about?

I feel mixed, about your message here. On the one hand, unprecedented times are kind of exhausting and we’ve been going through it for years. On the other hand, even though boring just means predictable and reliable – and those are good things – what the take might be is, unexciting.

I made myself watch this whole thing. Although #Chicago remains strong watching the inhumane treatment by the ICE “agents” makes me so angry. ICE = Gestapo. If they thought what they were doing was right they’d show their faces. Don’t look away, keep reporting & resisting..!

We must now start calling this what it is: Trump’s Invasion. It started with federal agents, it will soon include deploying federalized members of the Illinois National Guard against our wishes, and it will now involve sending in another state’s military troops.

I’m super bummed she performed there. Not surprised by Chappelle or Louis CK, their moral barometer has been on display for a long time. But to have a fellow queer person; a literate, smart, comic, sell out like that? Disillusioning. Not even in the top 10 real concerns today, but a drag.
