Obviously part of this is that there are many possible correct interpretations of the ancient world as evidence is sparse. One upside is that your citation of sources and discussion of their placement in the debates in your writing has been very helpful in giving the first couple texts to work from!

That requires a long chain of reading back to old texts to get an idea of the argument and not knowing if certain thoughts are out of date very clearly. Part of this is that Classics is not my academic area, but also the seeming lack (maybe I'm missing some?) of organizing texts is a real pain.

A few months ago I started on a set of wargame rules, originally written in great haste based on your articles on ancient warfare. As I've moved to broader academic reading on the topic to build out the sourcing and game model it's been a real pain as most stuff I read is in response to other stuff.

There is very much academic backing to such an argument (jstor.org/stable/43940834?seq=3)!

Quantum integrated tactical cyber fires are the future and you just refuse to see it!

It's simply how you achieve tactical cyber effects to degrade and disrupt the enemy in the deep at echelon using non-kinetic cyber fires to disrupt the enemies C4ISR to outpace their OODA loop to allow you to maneuver in space to decisively defeat them on the modern transparent battlefield.

Look, if you promise to start talking about "cyber fires" as a very real thing I'll make sure to mention you next time...

Very meandering discussion (including a digression about living in London) but we got to talk about dice in the end!

I'm depressed to have not been able to make it this year as I really want to know more about all of them, but I'll have to vote for Trojan!

Happy birthday! The high ground is only valuable if the enemy isn't on even higher ground themselves...

I think you could just sign up for it (there was a little vetting involved), though I was contacted as I know someone involved. The problem is that it's not very well advertised at all...
