There's a phenomenon I've noticed in which the "good guys" retreat to someplace with either a support base or hapless residents and in the name of prepping a counterattack against the "bad guys", freely abuse, exploit, and mistreat everyone under their zone of control.

As for "Chinese America", before the tragic flooding, I was envious of, and had hope for, the Seattle area because of the T&T grand openings.
The parts of California I'd want to live in the most have the largest Asian populations because their food is the best in the world.

One of the biggest ironies I have ever noticed about the West Coast, and the same can be said for much of the rest of the USA, is that the immigrants from the former USSR tend to be smarter, healthier, and better-looking than regular Americans. Most probably feel like they're in the Twilight Zone.
