I would definitely prefer to live free of gender coercion. Unfortunately TMA and TME aren't usually used to describe everyone who fits the acronyms, only GNC people and even more only when someone does or says something shitty and gets deservedly called out.

I only saw the linked post so I might be missing a bit of context. If they were centering their queer identity in the post I would agree. If TME (TMA, AFAB, AMAB) were used generally it wouldn't be problematic. It is genuinely difficult to find examples of these acronyms not used pejoratively.

I am given male privilege and it's double edged with erasure but that's a tangent. Using TME (or TMA) in this circumstance furthers the context that those terms are only used pejoratively. Outside of an academic work, I find them synonymous with "straggot".

I agree that the take is callous and harmful. I even agree bad takes like these too often come from those who are often given male privilege speaking out of turn. I am also grieving this decision, to a lesser degree, and I empathize with your pain.

You use of "TME" in this context is deeply hurtful to me. Now is not the time to make assumptions and attack people based on their gender characteristics.
