As an adult child of Disowned By Parent experience, who then of my own accord kept up no-contact when that parent simply decided to pretend the disowning didn’t happen, it’s interesting how often estrangement-disapprovers assume that the adult child is the instigator of “unfair” estrangement

The US and UK anti-trans groups certainly influence each other rhetoric-wise. It’s a bit unusual for an openly homophobic GOP politician to claim to be fighting on the side of the cis LGBs against the trans menace, though.

If you don’t concede that centrists profs like Dr Markman are “leftists,” why concede that acknowledging trans people in any way is “gender ideology”? Shockingly bad journalism in the same email that announces an LGBTQ+ newsletter. Can y’all be trusted to cover us fairly if you miss on such basics?

“A lecture that included gender ideology”? Lazy journalism, y’all. “Gender ideology” is a conservative rhetorical strategy to paint the mere mention of trans people as “promoting ideology” rather than acknowledging facts. To use this term uncritically is to let the right set the terms of discussion.
