Not really a “bet” on my side — I modelled it using my own S-curve disruption framework. I had 25.1m for 2026 and I’m sticking with it. The curve I built 5 years ago has tracked within ~100k the last few years. Adoption is compounding globally. Trump can slow the US, not the transition. ROW rocking.

Early Leafs aged like milk. Nissan cheaped out with passive cooling for years. Yes, they had a BMS—but without thermal control it couldn’t stop heat damage. Tesla had liquid cooling from 2012–14. Nissan only fixed it with Ariya in 2022. Too late. Leaf torched their EV credibility. I wrote about it..

We should know soon once the full CPCA breakdown drops — but you’re absolutely right. BEVs are clearly outpacing PHEVs/EREVs, and the real story will be just how steep the ICE decline has become. Growth is impressive, but displacement is the signal.
