Both in Australia and Canada, the conservative parties were projected to win in landslides until Trump took office, and suddenly everybody got to see the results of far-right nationalism. They had all the momentum coming into the new year, and Trump deflated it.

Newsom praised Kirk for reaching across the aisle with good-faith dialogue. He never did any such thing; he openly called for his followers to attack and murder trans women. He called stoning gays "God's perfect law". And he praised the man who attacked Paul Pelosi for committing political violence.

Got this from a friend who's a vet. Looks like they only let Trump supporters into that event where he bashed Newsom. He tells me that he has a hard time imagining them firing on citizens. I've never set foot on a base, so he's the best authority I have in this case. 🤷♀️
