… there is a very clear hierarchy. The administration with the superintendent at the top and principals for each school to whom teachers report. That’s not an issue. When the people closest to the mission see red flags, they have every right to use their collective power to draw attention to issues.

Public schools’ teachers & staff don’t work for the parents. They work for the entire community-at-large. They provide not what the parents want but what the community needs. These kids will be eventual adult participants & leaders of these communities in time. And every profession deserves a union.
