This wonderful opportunity wouldn't have happened without the hard work and support of @drpetekirwan.bsky.social, and I'm so grateful to him and his students for their interest in my work. I'm so very impressed by this cohort and the amazing program here at MBU!

I'm absolutely thrilled that some of the incredible students in the @marybaldwinuni.bsky.social Shakespeare and Performance MLitt/MFA program will be performing part of my play Very Small Trouble on the Blackfriars stage at the American Shakespeare Center!

Made me think more on my thoughts re: women/girls in Maytime/Midsummer civic perf. in London & elsewhere (of course in the footsteps of Tracey Hill’s incredible work) — can’t wait to incorporate Lydia’s work on race-making/English identity formation in anything I write in the future on this topic!

I’m so interested in the legacy of London’s “Evil May Day” and its impact on festive perf. culture in the city, and this talk revealed some really interesting connections to the Lord Mayor’s Show/its representations of racial identities and the cultural memory of London’s anti-“stranger” rhetoric

by all means, write all of the Shakespeare fan fiction you want, but this is just irresponsible. I'm begging people to just read early modern literature actually written by women (it exists!) instead of doing... this
