The (non-LOTR) Crown Jewels of my physical media collection say that my Japanese phase isn’t quite as over as previously believed

Using food to show where I grew up.

You can't take my mountain from me (even if I grew up on the other side of the river).

I blame @a-sleepy-sheepy.bsky.social for this being part of my haul in the last two independent book stores days. I wasn’t into reading about Rome before they convinced me otherwise!
Three books on a white cushion. And number two: the Century Hawk, an A-4 Skyhawk painted in the colours of the Golden Centennaires, the original Snowbirds as they were assembled in 1967 for the Canadian centennial.

The first of my Canadian Custom model plane paint job: The Arrowcat! A Grumann F-14 Tomcat painted to the colours of the plane, the myth, the legend: the Avro Arrow.

Yes, those roundels are are drawn freehand at 1/144 scale.

Just nostalgia for holidays gone by, back in my student years when they weren't a marathon to visit home quickly and be gone, and when snow actually fell.

The July Ottawa (and Gatineau) sky has been full of OG Nazi-punchers (and rare flying planes to warm my specially interested heart)

No photos I've seen come close to the reality of what I saw - the vivid colors of the eclipse-dusk, the pulsating white fire of the corona dancing around the moon in the ultramarine sky, the sheer presence of the eclipse. So...I tried.
