Not my specialty, but I spent some time on this a few years back. It is an oversimplification, but what Google did here represents- I think - a 2-3 order of magnitude improvement in qbit stability over what was then possible. Which was then the estimated threshold for practicality.

Shortly followed by the announcement of the highly compromised Matt Gaetz as Attorney General - the running joke is that this allows him to evade the House Ethics Committee investigation to which he is subject - and the conspiracy theorist Tulsi Gabbard as DNI.
