Might mess around and play Cult of the Lamb’s upcoming DLC in Spanish tbh, just to finish business

Right now, I’m back in one of my consistent phases and want to keep it going. This has meant looking for ways to diversify my learning experience, which finally brought me to trying to play a game in Spanish. I’ve thought about it before, and even briefly tried it one night while slaying gods in Cult of the Lamb, but ultimately never gave it a real shot. I don’t know why now — maybe I had a quiet confidence in my skill level gain since the last attempt, maybe Celeste’s whole “You can do this!” ethos clicked earlier than I realized — but something flipped a switch in my brain that made me play in Spanish.

One consistent, and I’d say valid, concern is how LGBTQ+ representation and inclusion will be affected given that EA’s future owners have terrible track records in how they treat the community

In addition to pricing, both Mason and Eastland brought up worries around LGBTQ+ inclusion and representation. “The main concern, as a female LGBTQ player, is that the representation will disappear. Fans of the sims have fought and protested online for more representation, [and] thus far this is the best version we have. There is a huge possibility, depending on how much of a part Saudi Arabia play, that all of that representation could be gone within seconds,” shared Eastland.

Mason said, “The Sims franchise has long been a figurehead for expression and diversity within gaming and with this acquisition bringing the franchise into the ownership of far-right leaning Conservative individuals, community members are rightfully concerned about the future of LGBTQ+ and gender-equal content.”

At the risk of making someone giggle, there’s something I must state plainly: size matters on most days. Sometimes it matters in small ways, like being too short to reach the top shelf at a grocery store, or having arms that aren’t long enough to reach a stray remote behind the couch. Then, there are the big ways that size matters. It is the Earth’s size that gives it a gravity that won’t let us go. It is an ant’s size that allows people to crush them without effort or thought. It is a child’s size that makes you grab their hand out of fear that you could lose them to a crowd, if not losing them to the embarrassment that a child often feels as they get older. Size matters, and that is partially why feeling small can be such a damning sensation.
