Dear Congress,
Libraries are the place we all belong. The place where Mister Rogers’ neighbors collide at the library to help one another. We come together to embrace library joy. What good is the world without libraries and museums? ❤️‍🩹

Call, email Congress! Help libraries & museums! We need you 💛

The worst emotion a human being can feel is when you think you're about to take a sip of Sprite and it turns out to just be water.

I don't pretend that there are government policies that won't do any harm whatsoever. But I do look to see whose policies are (a) attempting to do the least harm and (b) whose policies are doing harm for the stupidest of reasons.

She thinks she’s the victim because her high schooler told her he’s not allowed to say “r*tard” at school.

She’s absolutely indignant. She thinks it’s her right to throw slurs at special needs kids.

And I'll add the IRL as well. A public library in Reno has these kits for memory care made up and ready to go-- puzzles and games, etc. I was quite touched, and deeply impressed at the thoughtfulness of library staff for serving their community in this way.
