Trumpism

HSBC becomes first UK bank to quit industry’s net zero alliance.

Banks take bailouts, subsidies, sell dodgy financial products, launder money and abuse taxes, but never accept social responsibility.

Voluntarism is a fig leaf. Change law. Impose public duties.

Isn't it ironic. After decades of paranoia about "Reds Under The Bed", America failed to notice who was IN BED with the man they elected.

🧵 There are legitimate points to be made on the threshold and level of inheritance tax relief for farms and decent campaigns making them.

Farmers to Action does not seem to me to be one such campaign. Everything about them rings alarm bells. Not least of which their association with #together. 1/3

Kemi Badenoch says Tories made 'mistakes' on Brexit & left EU ‘without plan for growth'

The Shadow Foreign Secretary today agreed

How was that not at best grossly irresponsible & at worst gross negligence on part of Tory Gov’t & why are Labour not hammering them with it?

This company likes to portray itself as akin to numerous small local brewers. It is, in fact, a giant corporation backed by a US private equity firm.
James Watt Brewdog's CEO is worth £262,000,000 he is refusing to raise the wage of his staff in London by the £1 an hour to keep them at the National Living Wage.

Brewdog is apparently a 'nice' company, but wage freezes don't seem very nice.

Do they?

We don't defeat populists by calling out their lies. We tried that. Facts are complicated, and the audience for populism wants simplicity. It won't work.

We defeat populists by enacting bold political ideas that improve lives for the disenfranchised, and make the world seem less grotesquely unfair.
