apropos of absolutely nothing i do think its incredibly unfair to expect folks with DID to be able to hold any sort of employment, even the ones you think of as the "functional" or "not as bad" ones, because often you are only seeing them when they feel stable enough to present as one person :)

the thing that differs your experience with the system you think you know from reality is that when you're working a job you dont get to choose when people see you, and if you're having a [insert alter here who can't function in a job setting] day, you dont get to choose to just. not go into work.

this is the "disorder" part of dissociative identity disorder. it is, for many people (us included) debilitating. i can hold down a job. many of the people living in my head cannot, and its unfair to make that demand of them.
