When you've spent your whole life accommodating an invisible disablity often times you'll become so self compensatory others will forget or even deny your disablity. They'll extend less sympathy despite the admission of struggle as a constant state. This absence of empathy teaches its necessity.

I know this sounds weak, I know it.
But kindness is one of the few things we carry that can make a difference for each other.

If you're transgender or gender-non conforming, now is the time to be loud, to exist radically yourself, not blunt your edge or dim your light. Your existence is a threat to the power structure and they know this. They want you to hide away your complexity to better control the greater collective.

A helpful thing to remember, or at least it has been for me: in hard times, there will be discrete moments—maybe lots of them—where you experience love and joy and community. It is no sin to enjoy them, and arguably more of one to refuse them.
