I haven’t seen it in a while and it’s about time to revisit Resistance and Ashoka. My residual impression of the dad was “selfish”. Didn’t see the connection until now but I guess he’s always been that way!

True. Troi being violated yet again is bad, but at least it had a purpose in the story and some final pay-off in telepathic ouija. The dune bashing was kind of pointless and silly and there's a few cringetastic lines scattered around, but it's rare to find a Trek movie without at least some of that.

Poor Naomi. That jump was brutal! The temp also depends on where they are in the solar system and on any thermal management the ships might use to distribute heat around.

But even without that I love the intensity they create in the scene just by making space realistic.
