I look at data sometimes.
No penalty, so I guess we can be glad George got his celebration!

Are you saying they should let Leclerc go celebrate without a confirmed penalty? Not sure another option here.

McLaren obviously are the fastest overall, and I think with minimal disruption this is easily their race to lose, but I think Williams, Merc could have a good race. Haas average times for FP1 don’t look awful, but their quali pace might be an issue? Of course, we gotta see what the rain situation is

I think what this shows more than anything is how tight the front was this year. Being off the pace slightly can lead to some wild swings in finishing position. Whereas a backmarker, even a consistent front runner may only score 1 extra position over their teammate.

I will post the data tables tomorrow! Had to rush this weekend doing Christmas errands so need to clean it up

I wouldn't read too much into this, but it shows how weak (in a relative sense) Oscar's early season (races 4-7) and end season (18-24 but not Qatar) were

Of Red bull, Alpine, Aston, McLaren, and Haas, the 2nd most mismatched was McLaren with an average of 2.52 spaces between the drivers (if you don't count Austria where Lando DNF'd but shows as classified). Haas was 3rd at a 2.15 average finish difference. Didn't review Merc or Ferrari yet.

In red it’s still (kinda) accurate to Lewis

Williams and RB to be excluded due to... well... you know their inability to keep a team steady lol. I feel like Alpine has enough data we just won't include Abu Dhabi.
