Miguel Rojas won’t start tomorrow due to matchup reasons. He did tweak his left hamstring yesterday diving into third base on defense, but Rojas said it’s feeling better today. He’s going through his usual routine.

The Dodgers will make at least one lineup change tomorrow in response to the Phillies starting Aaron Nola in Game 3: Max Muncy will start, per Dave Roberts.

As the ninth inning teetered on collapse, Dave Roberts solicited ideas.

Mookie Betts, playing just his fourth postseason game at shortstop, had an idea.

Not a surprise, but if this series goes five games, Dave Roberts said Shohei Ohtani would be the Game 5 starter.
fabianardaya.bsky.social
If things continued to trend this direction, Dave Roberts said, Will Smith will start Game 3.

For what it’s worth, Will Smith just caught Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s bullpen session. He said his hand feels fine.

No Will Smith in the Dodgers lineup.

The Dodgers figured, at some point, Citizens Bank Park would erupt.

Hitting coach Aaron Bates spent his hitter’s meeting Saturday emphasizing the Dodgers find a way to silence them.

Enter Teoscar Hernández, who redeemed himself with one big swing: www.nytimes.com/athletic/669...

Dave Roberts said Will Smith is “very close” to being able to start behind the plate.

“There's a chance that he can come into tonight's game and kind of get his feet wet a little bit.

“But, yeah, he's close, and I just don't know when. But he's very close, yes.”

I can’t count. Five lefty relievers, not four.
fabianardaya.bsky.social
Here’s the Dodgers’ NLDS roster, which includes Clayton Kershaw and Anthony Banda as two of four lefty relievers.

Justin Wrobleski and Edgardo Henriquez come off the roster.

Some lingering questions ahead of Dodgers-Phillies, including:

- what this will look like for Shohei Ohtani
- monitoring Will Smith’s status
- Clayton Kershaw in the bullpen, and how many lefties will join him there

Clayton Kershaw will be in the bullpen for this NLDS, Dave Roberts said.

It’ll be Blake Snell and Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Games 2 and 3, Dave Roberts said.

Dave Roberts said that, while it could be subject to change, there aren’t any plans to use Shohei Ohtani on short rest or in relief.

So after Game 1, by that logic the soonest Ohtani would be available would be Game 5.

Tyler Glasnow will be available in relief Game 1.

Mookie Betts can admit it now: losing 20 pounds on the eve of Opening Day was the first domino in the worst season of his career.

In the end, it was Roki Sasaki of all people who stabilized things and shut the door to send the Dodgers to the NLDS. That was unthinkable even a month ago. This isn’t the same Sasaki from then.

Will there be any limitations on Shohei Ohtani as a starter in Game 1 of the NLDS?

Andrew Friedman: "I just think he's a normal starting pitcher now. Kind of eased him along. Just a normal starting pitcher."
