Tawny owl with attitude.

Owls have zygodactyl feet, with the two outer toes facing backwards & the two inner toes facing forwards (as in this photo) & have the unusual ability to rotate their 4th toe to face forwards 🦉🪶

If you’re thinking of putting out Christmas leftovers, please remember that some foods can be harmful for foxes, including grapes & raisins, cooked bones, onion & garlic.
And foxes may love sweet foods, but as foxy dentists are in short supply, please limit these too 🦷🦊

Came across this amazing owl butterfly in Ecuador. With a wingspan up to 20cm, they have distinctive large eyespots on their wings, resembling owls’ eyes.

Seems to me the changes to farmers’ IHT missed a great opportunity to nudge the UK towards a more sustainable & ethical plant based food system.
