I need double the amount I have to reach the final boss what a waste of time… Funny thing is that they encourage you to farm those multiple times but the reward is making the game simpler when it’s already tuned down compared to Metroid difficulty and hard mode isn’t available at start

so we know SOMEONE played outer wilds during Metroid Prime 4 development. So they DO know about « knowledgevania ». And they borrowed ONE idea that’s not even outer wilds trademarked to not even make it somewhat interesting 🙂‍↔️😭

And honestly even with guidance I feel lost in their world - I have no clue on where to go next everything is so distant. They couldn’t commit to their weird level design: it’s a patchwork that somewhat works a bit. Though combat feels great and the levels when experienced on their own are cool too

Since their game is keeping contradictory designs we have an « X-ray visor » telling us « what if you had a grapple, like later in the game 😉😉) - we have a vilain breaking the bridge in a cutscene instead of letting us understand it’s a late game area - we have a guy calling us to tell what to do…

Same for ammunition type switch - icy caves, magma lakes or space pirate labs are interconnected, changing ammo type by the press of a button isn’t just there to increase combat complexity it’s tied to the world building too. They actually acknowledged that for Prime 3 and removed elemental ammo

What’s funny to me is that they don’t want to change the core gameplay to fit their linear world building. In prime 1 scans made you remember thick red words like « bendezium » in environment descriptions because it meant ~backtracking~…now it’s just resident evil shitty logs everywhere

but the nintendo version isn't that it's always creating one of the most polished and impressive works of holistic game design ever and then deciding, for philosophical reasons, to simply not make the rest of the game
