I had a clear image of what kind of lesbian grief y'shtola was carrying inside her always. But the fact that her mother's pregnancy is what made her ill is almost too on the nose. Life as a woman and a mother is a constant erosion of your self and sometimes literally your body.

The details about her mother are somehow so correct; birth leaving her mother frail. Her unease with maternity and age. How she is replicating her father's methods of affection etc. Sigh !!!
