It’s amazing to me that politicians don’t commit to post first on @bsky.app and to engage with constituents here

THIS is more powerful than CNN , MSNBC, The Post will ever be.

You can broadcast for 9 mins on a declining medium, or engage here and start a real discussion.

Which is more powerful?

Any space that is perceived to be “liberal” is derided as aloof, out of touch with “regular folks,” and “not the real world.”

Any space dominated by reactionary sentiment and rightwing aggression is revered as a manifestation of “real America” and a window into what “the people” really think.
It's strange to me that being on Twitter was once considered a marker of how out of touch with reality you are and now being on Twitter is a mark of how in touch you are

This shouldn’t be, but in many red states, Black history is whitewashed or barely taught. Thanks @aaronparnas.bsky.social and AP for breaking this good news. We need this…

Florida students are giving up their Saturday mornings to learn African American history at community centers across the state.

We have a very deep bench of qualified and amazing Democrats that could seek higher office.

The key is, we need to be investing in liberal media to support these people and make sure we can spread their message!

Otherwise, it’ll be a repeat of 2024.

I firmly believe that Democratic politicians like AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Pete Buttigieg, and others who can communicate messaging while not sounding like politicians are the future of our party.

I write how Democrats need to take credit for their accomplishments loudly and blame MAGA for their failures loudly. Sure, self-promotion can feel gross sometimes. But, with lives on the line, politicians need to sell their policies and their brand.

Democrats Need to Learn How to Take Credit and How to Blame
Republicans do it with lies. So why can’t Democrats do it with the truth?

Shouldn't Biden pardon everyone Trump has said he'll go after: Fauci, Cheney, Jack Smith, etc?

If you’re upset about President Biden pardoning his son Hunter, wait until I tell you about the time Trump pardoned his son in law’s hooker hiring daddy and made him ambassador to France.

It's up to Democratic officials whether they want to stop exclusively rewarding legacy media with their time and start validating the people who are actually advocating for their agenda. But until they make that decision, the asymmetry that cost Democrats this election will persist.
Democrats make a mistake by fixating just on Joe Rogan. It is about a mentality that going on a Sunday show with 50,000 viewers is more important than talking to a YouTube influencer with 3 million.

As the world gets darker, we will survive by sharing the light and warmth of each other. We will fight on and we will find our way. Our lives are more than state power bearing down on us. So we will carry the fire until the day we all walk in the sun. Together.

1994: Mariah Carey releases a Christmas song

2024: Mariah Carey has become the Harbinger of Christmas. The Beast emerges every November to feast on the holiday energy of every unfortunate mortal who hears her siren song. Only after she's sated will she return to her icy prison.

Furthermore: it’s much harder to building thing than destroy them, harder to fix than to break them. But the pace of building and fixing in our current system is slow and unsatisfying and all the political upside is in finding a story about who to blame for ppl’s experience of alienation and despair

I get the pushback to Bluesky in that it further bifurcates our media ecosystem. But at this point, Twitter’s content moderation is so nonexistent and its verified users so extreme that the choice becomes either move away from Twitter or be subjected to straight up 4chan nazi bile on a daily basis.

The focus on attacks on trans rights really seems like displacement, when the far more central issue was immigration and asylum law at the border. Basically all the Dems who overperformed were considerably to the right of the Biden admin on the border and were loud about it in their campaigns.

John Tester and Lucas Kunce both decided it was too dangerous to endorse Harris. Neither would even say whether they were voting for her.

They both lost. To voters like me, it came across as sexist. They were trying to appeal to white Trump dudes.

That’s a losing strategy.

Some are falling for the same wishful thinking MAGA did 4 years ago.

Come on folks, don’t stoop to their level. We are better than this!
Please stop asking me about recounts or audits or whatever y’all saw on TikTok.

There was no stolen election. There is no plot twist coming. We lost, that’s it, and I will call out misinformation even when it comes from our side.
