Knackered ex orienteer and map collector- now on a bike much of the time. Hill bagger. East Lothian. Unfortunately due to some authoritarian overreach from our neighbours and overlords and over enthusiastic compliance, I am unable to easily access DMs.

How's the microwave headache. I have always found that to be an uncomfortable summit.

1/ It looks like something from a galaxy far, far away, but this is the Harvest Moon rising over Titterstone Clee. The sky was a vivid blend of pink and purple, contrasting with the cool tones of the radar dome below. I had reached the summit with plenty of time to spare and... #Shropshire

Shortly afterwards the Turks were fighting World War I here. My grandfather had a lucky escape when his unit was routed.

He got worse during his career. He always was on the sane side of the party.

The middle of the 20th century was like a plague. Millions died and the survivors gaining immunity to the pathogen. Sadly it wore off. There are still plenty of us with herd immunity thanks to relatives and educators but memories are fading into a pervertable history.

Stupidism on the outside, restricting further education to the elite as of old on the inside.

The proscription as terrorist of a direct action protest group for throwing paint over planes devalues the term 'terrorism'& makes infinitely more difficult the fight against actual terrorists.

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

BBC News - Thousands join biggest-ever UK environmental lawsuit over river pollution
www.bbc.com/news/article...

I've seen first hand the collapse of the Wye in Powys/Herefordshire from pristine environment to toxic sludge.

Those who have caused and enabled this destruction must be accountable.

Throughout my lifetime, a rare benefit of the Conservative Party was a general lack of enthusiasm for authoritarian policies. That changed in the past decade.
Now they are a greater threat than Labour - pet judges and approved "rights"only. I fear the current governments response to tanks parked

Scottish Outdoor Access Code recognises that specific routes may need to be managed for deer stalking on specific days, but not blanket bans like this.

Section 14 of Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 gives councils the power to remove non-compliant signs.

@perthandkinross.bsky.social must act now.

⛰ Glen Lyon access must be fixed.

We’ve written to @perthandkinross.bsky.social, calling on it to urgently require a landowner to remove ‘No Walking’ signs at popular Perthshire Munros.⛔

North Chesthill Estate in Glen Lyon is trying to stop walkers accessing its 4 Munros during all of Sept & Oct.

And they can stuff that expectation that you visit all four main hills in a prescribed direction. (I have never done all four in a oner)
