A large five colour 1:10000 orienteering map of the north side of Eskdale, Cumberland. Mostly open and a pale yellow is used for this. There are extensive marshes and I had to pull myself out of one. A M19 course is marked up, finishing in a garden at the west end of the map. A very steep slope runs the length of the southern edge with a gently sloping marshy plateau above,

Heading north - Cargo ship in the fjords of Patagonia, a few hours out from Puerto Natales
Calm sea with a Scottish sized hill in the background, mostly rocky with snow on a rounded summit. A large and obviously not fully laden cargo vessel with high slab sides is moving away from the camera. White and lower down blue hull with GLOVIS in large letters. East Monaughty 1980. Clearfelling soon took this forest off the fixture list. I would have spent a lot of time on an EUOC bus to get there. Premarked maps were a well loved luxury at this time.

A 1:15000 scribed orienteering map of the forest behind Pluscarden Abbey, Morayshire. The forest is runnable with a lot of clear felled coupes. The clear fell symbol used is a yellow and white diagonal striping screen which was used a fair bit at this time. A small sheet and a very attractive map. M19 - M35 course overprint.

Moorland near Selkirk. Looking east from the edge of Elibank Forest with self seeded Sitka everywhere. Grazed by sheep and their tracks made walking here unbelievably easy.
Snow covered heather. There is a burn with a shallow descent into the picture and lots of small spruce trees scattered over the moor. Everywhere into the distant view is snow covered.

Autumn turns to Winter - a handover shot with the last of the colour on the larches vrs the first of the snow. Elibank Forest, Tweeddale today.
A forest road running through larch woods, now almost without needles. Sunshine with a dusting of snow on the road which curves gently down the centre, first left and then right. There are two red tyre tracks coloured by fallen needles. Background sky is cloudy.

Subbuteo action shot. Colour of player uncertain but it could be all dark blue. Green base though. A shot is about to be taken from just over the half way line. Very much a recreation of Scotland's fourth goal. In Subbuteo long range shots don't count for scaling reasons.

More sodding balloon litter-this time above Tyndrum on what I suspect is a little visited hill(Meall Buidhe)
A right pain to carry off due to it being full of ice so could not go in my pack.Tied it on the outside.
How much of this shite is lying out there on the hills or washed up on the shoreline?
Grassy sunny hillside - grass yellow dun Winter colour. There is a wire square mesh fence and below it a blue party balloon - the helium is probably lost to space by now but the plasticy stuff remains.

Photographing in Waterlooville this weekend for a new project and the town centre had 8 or 9 barbers, three betting shops, two martial arts/boxing clubs, multiple nail bars. Striking how when a town centre is in trouble the parasites and money launderers descend to suck away what lifeblood remains.

Auchtertyre #viaduct, #Perthshire. Carrying the West Highland #Railway between Tyndrum Upper and Crianlarich.
Gravel road passing under a high railway bridge. The viaduct is made of green girders supported by stone pillars. On the right of the road there is a steep descent into a gorge so the track is high above the burn. It is a bright sunny day with a blue sky. Trees bare at the start of Winter.
