I think I bought the least amount of records in 2025 than I have since I started collecting 15(?) years ago. Only 15 new releases all year. It appears my addictions have shifted elsewhere for now.

Sometimes I’ll watch a movie I’ve never seen before and it is immediately so idiosyncratic, so bizarre and so intriguing that I have to buy a physical copy before the movie is even over. Tonight that movie is Norman Mailer’s 1987 campy neo-noir “Tough Guys Don’t Dance”.

Perdita Durango (AKA Dance With The Devil) is of the most batshit crazy movies I’ve ever seen. I don’t think it’s very good but it’s certainly not boring. Rosie Perez, pre-fame Javier Bardem (with an even weirder hairstyle than No Country) and James Gandolfini play everything to the rafters.
