I have obtained a hand-written manuscript of an identification key that the great Russian carabidologist Kryzhanovsky could not publish any more before his death - written in cyrillic cursive. Google lens translates the text without probelm. I think the potnetial is huge.

Ich glaube vor kurzem im gleichen Zug gewesen zu sein mit selben Problem (1.92). Habe erst nach einer Stunde bemerkt dass man das graue Teil hoch schieben kann. Dann ging es.

Lucky find! My grandfather heard lectures by him at LMU and keeps telling me how boring they were. He claims most other students stayed home after the first two (he financed himself by writing and copying scripts for them) ... but this may also be due to varying personal interest ...

I even tend to agree that it is difficult to exclude people based on their personal conduct, BUT Musk is not even a scientist. He should never have ended up there in the first place.

Das ist theoretisch sicher richtig, im Einzelfall kann man aber durchaus sehr gut und schnell bewerten was eindeutig zu weit ghet und was noch ok ist. Und wenn man eine solche rot hinterlegte Box anfügen muss ging da etwas eindeutig zu weit.

Absolut, das Einhalten von Standards ist keine Zensur. Meine Vermutung aber ist, dass der Drang die eigenen Ergebnisse zu veröffentlichen letztendlich deutlich stärker ist das der, andere zu demütigen. Daher würde ich da eigentlich keine größeren Konflikte erwarten ...
