Made bread today for the UU church bread/thanksgiving celebration. Sourdough. Just flour, water and salt. Baking bread is meditative. Reminds me that amazing things can come from the simplest ingredients.

I spent part of my childhood in Denver. 11 years earlier, Jack Kerouac lived in this house about 1.5 miles away. 2nd photo is a former bar that Kerouac frequented.

On my way home, I stopped in Harrisburg PA. I took these photos of the scene where Jack Kerouac had the starvation-fueled hallucinations about the Ghost of the Susquehanna (On the Road, Part 1, Chapter 14). Here are the railroad underpass and jazz club he wrote about.

At the beginning of November I returned from a recent road trip. I spent 5 days filming the Route 40 documentary in Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. This is Doug filming me in Brazil, IN (he likes to get shots of me taking pictures).
