A conversation I don't think yall are ready for yet is that you can love a character sooooo much and relate to them and see yourself in them but at the end of the day they're still fake and that's why someone else's take on them or headcanon about them isn't a direct message about you or insult to your identity. If your identity is so wrapped up in a character that you can't distinguish between reality and fiction, then you are the problem. Not some random person online who interprets the character differently than you.

Summary:

Rhea craves to be treated like an everyday person, and to make a friend. Professor Manuela, someone known to treat her colleagues with casualness (allegedly for better and worse), seems to be the perfect person to treat her as such.

Little do they know how much they have in common. They are both women with unhealthy coping mechanisms. They both ignore those trying to help them. Perhaps over the months they can help each other, form a wonderful friendship, and even fall in love along the way.

Lady Rhea notices her arrival. Adorned in her regalia and headpiece she seems divine, a messenger blessed by the Goddess herself, never free of her duties, making her seem, though weirdly worded, painted yet worn out. Lady Rhea smiles and gestures to the opposite seat. Mustering her most charismatic smile Manuela takes her seat.

“The market had Angelica tea!” She places the bag between them. Rhea does not brighten up: could it be that she isn’t into tea, and only agreed as a means to start their friendship?

“Although I must admit I am not familiar with the ideal means of brewing it,” she adds. Honesty is important for forming bonds… though she wouldn’t dare lie to the Archbishop. Stop treating her like the Archbishop!

“It is no hassle for me to brew tea, Professor Manuela,” Rhea chuckles, yet she hears how practised the sound is.

“If we’re going to be casual with one another then we’ll need to drop the formalities,” Manuela decrees as she assists Lady Rhea with heating the tea, and allowing her to brew the right temperature.

“You are right, Prof—Manuela,” Rhea blunders as she pours them tea, her face contorted in a manner of one struggling to adjust to something.

“It is far easier said than done,” Manuela sympathises. She lifts her tea as a toast. “I think it’ll take me quite some time until I drop ‘Lady’ or ‘Archbishop’ with you, Lady Rhea. Ah, I did it again!”

That last comment doesn’t conjure a laugh. Lady Rhea simply nods. Right, well, best to move on. Manuela takes a cautious sip of the tea. The taste is… adequate, but not her kind. Upon lowering it she notes how Lady Rhea hasn’t even given her tea a sip. Those jade eyes simply observe her with the interest of a scholar fascinated in the results their subject will wield. Alright then—time to make conversation.

Personal note from mod Nina: I had only run very small fandom events before (think ~15 ppl!) & so the response here was beyond my wildest dreams! It was incredible seeing all the mediums and genres and creativity, and I hope the #fe3h fandom can eat well on the Timeskip tag for months to come.

Summary:

“How do threesomes work?”

Silence.

At least they are not looking at her with the expectation of a punchline. They look to each other for guidance or to figure who should speak first. Hubert seems unfocused, but she and Ferdinand know him to be focusing deeply on the matter. Ferdinand purses his lips and furrows his brows in deep thought.

“Well there is someone in the middle and… er, well…” he flounders, growing uncharacteristically tongue-tied—it would have been endearing, had the topic not been serious. “…I must confess I do not know any other details.”
Edelgard, Hubert, and Ferdinand wish to have a threesome, though they are unsure how to conduct one. Thus they research into the matter and proceed to try it. Suffice to say first attempts are bound to be clunky.

That smile on Ferdinand is too radiating for a person, and oh how she—and Hubert, though he would act like he is doing it out of annoyance than fondness—wants to smother him with kisses. “Abusing your power, Edelgard? How dastardly of you! I must right these wrongs!”

Ferdinand leans forward to peck her mouth with chaste kisses, and she snorts and smiles against his lips as she returns the favour. His kisses are always so endearing and playful, full of warmth; they are perfectly indicative of his character. She always needs to caress his cheeks, a need equivalent to breathing. When he pulls away he musters a faux look of disapproval towards Hubert, accentuated by a thrust of his chest (the sleepwear highlights his pecs quite well; her respect to the tailor) and a pout.

“And you, Hubert! A retainer must be able to voice their objections to their emperor! You can’t simply be a lap dog!”

Hubert cocks a brow at him, his face utterly deadpan, always wishing to goad him. A smirk etches across his face, and it really shouldn’t be so arousing to herself and Ferdinand. “Then it is best you teach this dog a lesson, if you so dare.”

Ferdinand leans across her to smack his lips against Hubert’s smug lips. She can’t help but chuckle as Hubert pretends that he absolutely loathes it, oh how convincing, especially when he kisses the ‘tiresome buffoon’ back with a hint of a smile. Hubert is still unused to physical affection, so he keeps his hands to himself. But him allowing Ferdinand to grab the back of his neck to deepen the kiss screams volumes of him growing accustomed to receiving such affection from his loves.

AU Post-Azure Moon, Hegemon Edelgard/Dorothea.

A week has passed since the passing of the emperor, and Dorothea ponders what her future is. Recalling how Manuela planned to open an orphanage Dorothea decides to meet her to join her. Along the way she is ambushed and rescued by a beast. The beast is Edelgard, whom wishes to eliminate Those Who Slither in the Dark so none will ever suffer what she suffered. Dorothea decides to join her cause.

But when they stop for Dorothea to catch Manuela up to speed, Edelgard rescues some orphan children from TWSitD. To Edelgard and Dorothea's surprise the rescued children become fond of Edelgard. Now it is a question of what to do: does Dorothea stay to run this orphanage while Edelgard goes to fight TWSitD? Does Edelgard and Dorothea have a future worth pursing?

“Although I cannot rid the Church without my companions or country, I will eliminate Those Who Slither in the Dark,” she decrees, her booming voice sounding like the times she rallied people in the great halls of the throne room.

Years ago Edelgard confided in her about those that medically tortured her and her siblings to create the perfect weapon to eliminate Seiros and her kin. How could Dorothea forget the day that she saw Edelgard cry for the first time? When Edelgard coughed blood and collapsed when the two had tea together she learnt a horrible truth: Edelgard’s Twin Crests place enormous stress on her body. She also learnt how Lysithea suffers too, and that both her and Edelgard have only a few years left to live.

Dorothea wonders if Edelgard’s life has been cut shorter in this form. She is too frightened to ask.

“They will never ever harm any other person so long as I live. If I am to die then it will be after I rid them for good.”

When Edelgard’s mind is made up then no one, not even the Goddess herself, can stop her. Even if she must conquer this task on her own she will soldier on. That’s always been an admirable quality of hers. Yet she knows that Edelgard cannot do this on her own. In that towering form she can’t spy or investigate matters. Those Who Slither in the Dark are called as such because they are slippery people; they have invaded all manners of life across Fódlan: nobles, commoners, soldiers, all. Unfortunately Edelgard has no one to turn to… at least that is what Edelgard thinks.

She will help her.

They have always agreed to create a world where none are ever used or abused for the sake of another, and then tossed aside once their use has been fulfilled. Whilst the Church will continue to exist at least ridding those who pull Fódlan’s strings in the shadows will be eliminated. The war was too much for her, but this fight is not a war that encompasses countless innocent lives. This is a battle for a brighter future for Fódlan.
