I am one of very few people I know who’s damn near hardwired to be repulsed by this behavior even when it’s targeting someone I hate.

For the love of god, you don’t need to be endlessly shopping for new reasons to hate someone or new accusations to lob at them. Just let them fucking live.

Social media is very effective at creating sin-eaters. A sin-eater is different from an ephemeral main-character. It's a recurring "well would you look at that guy" person you see screenshotted on your feed constantly, who is meant to stand in for the evils of some larger group you dislike

Living happily with the knowledge that Rouge giving expensive gifts to Topaz was likely not a one-off thing for their final episode.

In the comics, Eggman leaves a new laptop for Topaz as part a trap by making it look like it's from Rouge and she doesn't even question it.
