The past few fake accounts that’ve been following me like this haven’t had “bsky dot social” usernames, just this “myatproto dot social” domain…?
Fake account with random/stolen/fake images for the header and profile picture, the display name begging for help along with a watermelon emoji, and the username “1726e7” with the domain “myatproto dot social” at the end. They’ve been labeled for incomplete profile, getting blocked 20+ times in 24 hours, twice labeled for bulk follows (300+ and 1000+ respectively) and for inauthentic fundraising. The pinned post is hidden because it contains something I muted I guess?

If you inspect the accessibility properties of the GIF, you can find “alt text” and add it exactly (even excluding users you follow!) to your muted terms and it’ll mute all instances of that GIF!

In this case, it’s exactly: a woman is clapping her hands in front of an american flag .

For some reason there is a space before the period after “flag” which is weird but helps reduce the likelihood you’ll accidentally catch someone… happening to use these exact words in a post I guess? Screenshot of the exact alt text having been added to Felicia’s muted words list, with a note (after Felicia hit the checkmark on “Exclude users you follow, which is optional) that the muted term excludes users you follow so Felicia can still see the GIF from people she follows if she wants. The result of having added the muted term - it’s a reply to the post from earlier in this thread, but the post that contains the GIF itself has been hidden by the muted term we just added!

The thread reads as follows: I take umbrage at the notion that to be marginalized destines you to being an asshole on social media. This gets dressed up in pretty “speaking truth to power” language, but mostly it just manifests in sending death threats to whoever you can reach regardless of how much power they actually have. I know it makes your ego feel better when you tell yourself you’re fighting for the cause, but sometimes you’re just telling a random person you’ve never met to go play in traffic and it’s not helping anyone and it has very fucking little to do with the hardships you’re experiencing in life. Not every outburst deserves validation. Sometimes you really are just being rude and you really should just knock it the fuck off. Sorry.

Interesting - this is apparently what it looks like on Bluesky when someone deletes their tweet after you saved/bookmarked it.

They banned it faster than I could block it!!!

It’s pretty helpful, even beyond making it easier for custom feeds like my Zelda Fanart feed find your art for everyone who pinned it!

I know people have been burned by algorithms made to hide and exploit them. This feed was made *for* artists. ❤️
An example of the tool Felicia mentioned being used. Felicia wrote “look what I drew #zelda #art” and then clicked the blue “Check it!” button, causing green text to appear at the bottom, “Your post gets in the feed! Yay!” There is also a field for alt text, which is stated to be optional.
