Some of Generation Jones are finally getting their Susie Homemaker Ovens. This one in a lovely yellow hue, instead of pink or turquoise.

My copy of Year of the Hangman: George Washington’s Campaign Against the Iroquois. The Washington almost no one knows, except the Haudenosaunee. Western NY roadside markers of the Sullivan Campaign skip the horrors Haudenosaunee paid for loyalty to the British. #Haudenosaunee #Iroquoisnation

Went to my 6 month follow up diagnostic mammography post radiation. The lab had none of my previous images and claimed they didn’t have my diagnosis. The radiologist had nothing to compare the new images. I was told by my MO’s office it was my responsibility to get previous records sent. #CanSky

I supported on of my favorite independent booksellers yesterday. Please seek out your independent booksellers today, and often. #independentbooksellers #bookstores #lark&owlbooksellers

I wish there were How-To videos of my elderly relatives knitting gorgeous sweaters, sewing beautiful skirts, canning jam and vegetables, and sipping cocktails like civilized folks.

Especially the Tate’s lemon cookies.

First time using my #Aerogarden in years. Maybe 1/2 of the lettuce pods germinated. They look fairly good and it feels nice to be growing something. #Hydroponics #indoorgardening

I’m a not so wise granny with a love of forest wanderings, waterfalls and streams, moss, mushrooms, lichen, fantasy lit, and my huge orange cat. Breast cancer survivor.

2/2 we came home from a trip and found him injured and infected. Looked like a dog bite. My vet patched him up. Years ago by and he’s a part of out family, but still not my cat. Something happened. He lets me scritch him and purrs like crazy. IDK what happened, but it’s amazing. #cats

1/2 Mr. C showed up almost 7 years ago as a semi feral cat. He’d sit on my front porch and yell at me. So I started feeding him. He’s make a grrr-munching noise as he ate. I found out later most of my neighbors fed him too. I put out a box for him, then a plastic pet carrier. #cats

Vintage Southern Living cookbooks are a huge source for Jello resistance recipes.

Autumn forest wandering in a fantastic NY state park.

Mr. C, from the time we took him in, is my DH’s cat. For almost seven years, he’s randomly scratched and bitten me. He started head-butting me for scritches in January. Then came the snuggling. He’s only broken skin once since then. Idk what changed, but I’m grateful. #feralcats #cats

I don’t know the author, but this is beautiful.

From my childhood copy of Swiss Family Robinson. My copy went on an adventure or two.

Imagine my joy upon finding this bookmark in a childhood copy of Swiss Family Robinson. 1968 National Library Week. From my childhood gem of a public library.

Thinking of my maternal grandmother this morning, and sipping from one of her cups. She was the rock of my life for almost ten years, finally succumbing to brain cancer. I wonder today what kind of person I’d be today if cancer hadn’t stolen her away.

One of my favorite books: Stella Gibbons’ Cold Comfort Farm. This edition features cartoons of the characters on the covers. I loved the movie version with Eileen Atkins, Ian McKellen, among others wonderful stars.

A shoutout to #sundancebooksgeneseo for the sack full of books I bought yesterday. I went in looking for books by Jo Nesbø, and came out with six books by other authors.

A Hygge moment brought to me by my favorite waitress. Chai vanilla latte she decorated with extra whipped cream and cinnamon. Decadent and delicious.

For the first time in ages, my husband and I made Boeuf Daube last night. This time in an Instant Pot. Despite my misgivings, it turned out beautifully. The leftovers are resting in a large vintage Corningware casserole dish. They’re calling my name.
