If Mitch wants to show us that he has a shred of integrity, he'd shoot himself in the face for his part in creating this situation. Not a single republican politician should be allowed to wash their hands of this, every one of them is complicit.

I remember telling one of my coworkers that Roe v. Wade would probably get overturned if Trump won presidency in 2016... I also told my manager that a Trump victory in 2016 could lead to the eventual dissolution of the United States. Looking like I might be 2 for 2, though I'd have preferred 0...

I'd be surprised if that figure is even a tenth of the actual number of deaths. This is how the holocaust started. If it's not stopped, it will end the same way too.

I'm just waiting for enough people to realize this. My fear is that the people will think the fight was won just as soon as it starts.

I'm aware. Even if he wasn't, I know I'm not going to change his mind. The point of my responses are to demonstrate the absurdity to other readers who might happen across it. In a sense, inconveniencing myself to possibly keep someone else from falling for that bullshit.

Add something to the conversation besides "You're doing it wrong". If you can't, then what the hell are you doing? Just discouraging people who are doing something at all, while you shit in their cheerios.

There's a lot more going on in the protests than what you see from the outside. People are exchanging information, organizing, getting in the way, discussing plans and what comes next. There's a lot of information about how to protect the vulnerable communities in our neighborhoods that gets shared.

You miss the point of protesting if you think we're trying to 'bother' fascists. It's organizing people, showing the world and military leaders where we stand. It signals solidarity and courage. All things that erode what fascism needs to succeed. Importantly, we're not "just" protesting either.

All this talk about Trump, the Epstein files, Etc. None of it will matter if we allow the Republican party to wash themselves of their part in enabling the entire thing. Their neglect of duty should be considered treason at this point. If we don't hold them accountable, we deserve the consequences.

Honestly, fuck that. We don't owe them shit, and they can just deal with it. What we need to do is use this moment to drive home the fact that this is the result of refusing to participate. Wouldn't take too many former non-voters actually voting against fascism to make Republican voters irrelevant.

Instead of targeting and killing the single person instigating the conflict and giving the orders, it's considered more polite to throw hundreds of thousands of lives away in senseless slaughter. Why do we keep elevating sociopaths to world leadership?

They're OK with it because they still believe they will get away with the hypocrisy. If we start holding them complicit in the illegal behavior they helped protect, their tune might change. Though by then, it'll be too late to save them from the consequences of their choices today.
