Ah, right. Makes sense. Very cool! Thank you. I may be moving out to Newfoundland within the next year or two. It's great to learn how to use the local plants in fermentations.

A colleague brought a 2 litre bottle of kvass into the office once and I really enjoyed it. I didn't realize it was probiotic. Cool!

I've heard of kefir but not kefir water. I'll have to look that up! Are there any resources you would recommend in particular?

I haven't tried natto with maple syrup, but now I have to! Thanks for the suggestion. FYI, in Canada eggs are sold with the assumption that they will be cooked. We can still eat them raw but there's risk involved so we usually don't. I haven't given up alcohol forever. Just taking it easy for now. 😂

In Canada we can only get frozen natto imported from Japan, unless we cultivate it ourselves at home. My daughter and I love natto, but my wife and son still find it challenging to eat. Good job on cutting back on alcohol! I've been trying as well. It's been over two months since I had any alcohol.
