The resulting code that is run is a nightmare to make sense of, but it works and we can run it live in the middle of a for_each loop.

It basically uses the templatestring() function and tries to make terraform do things that it does not normally support like have a template call a sub-template

It would be nice if you could create a custom function like say md5() and have it be usable in the middle of, say, a for_each loop. You can't do this with modules. So I ended up writing this module : github.com/FredericGerv...

You can greatly simplify the modification of local variables in terraform with the use of modules as interfaces but you can end up with several nested modules and still have the code be complicated to read

Makes me wonder what instructions and information the officers are receiving. If someone's going into a classroom with guns raised, that's an institutional failure rather than the particular individual's whose gun went off.
