I've played this game dozens of times during the play testing phase. Probably around a hundred. I will buy and play it another hundred when it's out. Fun, fast, interesting and about a little known Napoleonic battle. Great design and great graphics.

For my wargames I work using that process. First an skeleton that fits the center of the model. Then I add parts to fill the needed historical developments. For instance: in Cuius Regio the core was movement. Then supply, battle and diplomacy came as added modules.

The key is to add incremental to the mix. Iterative design + incremental model build model. Build from simple to complex and not the other way around.

The game grows when all players know the secret objectives and how the cards work. First game can be strange. It's a political game, so alliances (usually against the leader) are a must to win. I recommend to use the setup proposed in BGG for the first game until players feel comfortable. Enjoy!
