I was interviewed for this book, which is finally coming out! I’ve read the chapter in which I am quoted/sourced and I think it is an interesting study of the public power campaign’s origins and how nyc-dsa played a hitherto infilled role in the climate movement.

I wrote about how the Build Public Renewables Act is starting to win!

What happens *after* you win a four year fight to pass historic ecosocialist legislation? You start an even bigger fight to make sure your state does it right, and start new fights nationwide too.

I just read the introduction to this and believe everyone should ask their library to order a copy of this book (and if you're coming to the national convening for public power this fall you'll be getting a copy for yourself!) nyupress.org/978147983780...

To bomb Iran the US deployed 7 B2 bombers, each of which cost $2.1B to build. They used 14 huge “bunker busters,” a model that cost $500 million to develop.

The US invested ~ $15 billion in this attack—almost 50% more than it invested in affordable housing construction this year.

The nytimes’s abstention from local political endorsement lasted exactly as long as it took for a credible socialist mayoral candidate to emerge.

I would be very interested to know the internal conversations behind the decision to move today’s editorial.

Essential reading (by @jasonstanley.bsky.social) for every American. The media, aided by a handful of reactionary academics and compliant university administrations, has sold the public a huge lie about wokeness on college campuses, enabling the extreme right. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

This is especially the case in the social media age, where mass demos are no longer proof of formal networks capable of making specific demands, accepting concessions, or acting in a coordinated way in other environments (the ballot box, the workplace).
