Don't get me wrong, comics are awesome! I'm just kind of fascinated by the evolution of zinemaking culture.

I love that idea! And I bet someone has, honestly, but that's no reason not to do it again.

That’s true, but I think there’s something irreplaceable about the mixture of text & images laid out by hand. It’s odd because online blogging was arguably more popular back when I started making zines (early 2000s livejournal days)

I went to the zine fair and it was really cool, but I noticed it was almost entirely comics. Do people still make text-based perzines with glue sticks & xerox machines anymore?

Hospital doodles kept me going. How have I never done scratch art before??
A thistle design in rainbow on black scratch art paper, mounted on a sketchbook page and surrounded by doodles of small objects: puzzle pieces, a cup, eyeglasses, bag of pretzels, plants, and a toy birdhouse.

I got a 75 count pack of rainbow scratch art paper—can't wait to fill them with pill bottles and dildos.
