I love to read 📚 One of my favorite things is giving book and movie recs and I love cats

💗Just wanted to share some books I love💗

1. Coup de Grace by Sofia Ajram-Liminal space and existential horror. Trapped in an endless subway station. I don't want to give away much because going in blind is best for this one. A short read and one of my favorite releases of last year.
Stayed up way later than intended doing it but I finally finished a short story. Even if it sucks, it's very meaningful to me and was cathartic to write. I want to keep doing this and find spaces to share my work

As promised, here are the slides I shared with students to convince them to NOT use chatGPT and other artificial stupidity.

TL;DR? AI is evil, unsustainable and stupid, and I'd much rather they use their own brains, make their own mistakes, and actually learn something. 🪄

Saw something this weekend about accepting that authors will write with AI. No. Don’t accept it, don’t forgive them.
I’m seeing a lot of soft takes from industry mutuals at the moment that we shouldn’t be so hard on those who use generative AI because it’s becoming harder and harder to resist.
Wrong. Betraying your ethics (and your peers) because ‘everyone else is doing it’ does not suddenly make it acceptable.

Recently I won this autographed cell phone from Sorority Row, a favorite slasher of mine. I'm just so happy to have it ☺️

It's so messed up how the Cenobites really sell the whole Pleasure and Pain thing super hard but then when you finally get to the Labyrinth, it's OOPS! All Pain!

I found last night's moon particularly appealing. It's always more difficult to get a sharp image when it's hanging low in the sky due to extra atmospheric distortion. This was the best I could do.

Midcentury magazine stories with stings in their tails. Some creepy, some fantastical, some just odd. Collier is as good as it gets in this ill-defined genre.

46 issues of WRAPPED IN PLASTIC, the David Lynch magazine that started out 100% Twin Peaks then became about Lynch's work in general. archive.org/search?query...

It's only been a day and the world feels significantly different without David Lynch in it.

The Iron Claw, even with its omission of a brother is probably my favorite film of 2023. So much raw emotion and organic energy among the cast. Such a great watch and I’ll be seeing it again. Also a Don’t Fear the Reaper AND Tom Sawyer needle drop? Yes please

I finally get to see The Iron Claw tomorrow, I’ve been WAITING for this😭

Recently read The Night House in a day because I had to know what was going to happen! A troubled kid watches his friend get gruesomely eaten by a payphone. It somehow gets even more weird after that! If you like the classic Goosebumps books, you’ll definitely enjoy this one. Also this cover🧡
