@brandenburgdm.bsky.social it frees up so much time for me to read things that I will at least enjoy. I’m on a roll this week with amazing books like @natcassidy.bsky.social WHEN THE WOLF COMES HOME and @jendiagammon.bsky.social DOOMFLOWER because of my new rule.

I am so much happier now that I’ve allowed myself to not feel guilt over a DNF. I also seem to have gotten myself out of the reading slump dread I would feel after reading a few in a row that I didn’t like but felt obligated to finish.

My 2025 resolution to myself was to not waste my time trying to force myself to finish reading books that I really don’t like/ fall asleep reading too much/ or make reading feel like a chore.
I’ve only DNF’d one book so far.

2. Darla: initially I disliked and stood for everything I’m personally against, but upon her return with guns blazing thanks to ‘fridge baby’ request I was forced to change my mind entirely! She was just too extra, fearless and hilarious not to love! @jendiagammon.bsky.social
