I stand there and do the whole eye contact/wave of acknowledgement song and dance and six, seven drivers pass right by - sometimes they're even looking at me! Yielding to crosswalks isn't just for when you're feeling benevolent enough to press your big toe, it's the law.

Elder Millennial here with this exact experience 😂 my mom would sometimes turn down the music for a second to make sure some of the industrial stylings weren't actually the car having a mechanical issue!

Drivers, you HAVE to start stopping at crosswalks again. It has been so bad lately at path crossings, and yesterday someone actually t-boned my front wheel in the crosswalk. Bike is fine, I'm fine, but it's just always too close for comfort when a moving vehicle makes contact with you or your bike.

I'm a personnel admin in the division of science at our institution and we assist with H1B applications. Basically none of the postdocs/research staff are able to be paid over $100k and the application fees themselves are a burden on the sponsoring lab. I'm also glad to see this data/recognition 👍

We had "polygamy" last week! And "exoplanet" - lots of ways to solve these, and after a time you start to see patterns and can freak people out by solving them quickly 😆 I've been solving with my mom, housemate, and my high school friend's mom and we share scores via email daily and keep in touch 😊

I used to actually do that when I was little! Then I'd make a "birds nest" in the middle. I definitely got more than one slug on me, but was blissfully unaware of the rest. Making sure the leaves were dry was crucial!
