Supermoon Rising.

The moon was big today.

The Greenhouse Library and the hallway outside wrapped up like a Christmas present. If all goes to plan, we’ll get a new and non-leaky roof in January. And if it doesn’t to go according to plan … October?

The Christmas book pile is ambitious, but very very promising. And I have new reading/computer glasses that I need to test out properly, anything else would not take my workplace health and safety seriously.

More like, "All done for the year!" Please don't send any more emails until January, I have worked hard for this.

Today: «Litterære reiser til underlege øyar». At our colleague Magne Drangeid’s professor promotion lecture.

Finally this absolute beauty from @skeuomorphpress.org made it across the pond. The texture of the paper, the quality of the print, the colors, the weight, the smell - not to mention the content by @ursulakleguin.com - it’s a real inspiration.

First day of our Walking & Writing workshop featured two sessions with Helena Hunter and Petra Lilja, lots of creative and sensory work, and walks in the forest by campus.

Starting the weekend with Ævestaden on vinyl and a very foresty beer brewed with birch, sweet woodruff, and stinging nettle from Rygr, a brewery just a few train stops south of here. I need to look at two texts tonight, but that can wait. I also need this.

Lots of charismatic infrastructure (and wind!) on our energy humanities excursion to Måkaknuten wind farm south of Stavanger today. #envhist #envhum

I have written some reflections on the #energylives fieldwork week we had in Finland in October, for The Current, our project blog. www.uis.no/en/the-curre... #envhist #envhum #energy

Hey @dudleymarianna.bsky.social, your book came for the Greenhouse Library today! You need to sign it when you’re here!

Surprisingly many people (and a dog!) showed up for the rephotography walk yesterday. Very happy to see how interested and enthusiastic people were. Most of them wanted to push on after the cold and windy stop at the tower - and we were rewarded with beautiful weather on the last bit of the walk.
November 17, 2025 at 5:38 AM
We will also launch the field guide to historical rephotography and a set of cards that can be used to get started.

An evening listening to vinyl records. Had found a used copy of Neil Young’s Sleeps With Angels from 1994 and it sounds fabulous. A magical album.

Today: not a day of rest, sadly, but I took the time to go downtown for some errands and for some light writing with coffee in front of the fireplace at Kokko.

Borrowed some magnifying glasses for the upcoming CREATURE event on Walking & Writing. Dog for scale.

We’re in a cute historic hotel in the countryside south of Sandnes.

Half-day of home office work after campus meetings in the morning, tweaking text and writing project summaries for a major grant proposal. All while listening to vinyl records such as this beauty - Low’s Things We Lost in the Fire. The weekend is almost here.

Sent our field guide to historical rephotography to the printer two minutes before I had to leave work. Such fun to illustrate it with collage! But heckin' lot of work too. Still, really pleased with the result. Hope the print comes out well! #digifren #envhist #envhum

On 16 November, we are organizing a rephotography walk in Sørmarka to mark the approaching end of the #DigiFREN project and to launch a package of educational materials on historical rephotography. All are welcome! #envhist #envhum #photography

We’re ready for the first event of the #CREATURE research group - «Art vs. Science: dueling methodologies in the classroom». Charlotte Wrigley @wrigleyca.bsky.social and Allen Jones are running the show today. With Boris Karloff’s Frankenstein as an honorary member!
