I've tried searching #Musician and just Musician. The hashtag seems to be irrelevant and mostly I get people I already follow.

Then my problem is there too much text and scrolling bios on the screen, my brain doesn't deal well with it. There's little for me to latch on to

I can figure out the scripting etc, I have hosting but it's pretty basic and locked down rather than my old hosting where I could, for example, have a SQL db.

I am just looking at some solutions and my brain is not handling it.

Despite being fairly techy, my issue at the moment, is that the solutions I've read, are a bit above me. I can work it out but I don't feel like I've got the capacity right now.

An idiot's guide might help!

It would be, but the bios have more limits. I'd like to apply several genres, and that will take up characters.

It'd be completely up to the person to do, as someone else has pointed out, I think this is the case with the pronouns. In order to get them I had to like a post, so really I don't think anyone else can apply the label to someone else's account

Then there's person whose art business was called "Jim'll Paint It", who then later just changed it to "Jim", but then reverted back to "Jim'll Paint It".

I ended up blocking them on Facebook for this.

Some things are clearer than others. For example, an artist who chose a title that has a word in it that is commonly considered to be derogatory, or often it happens with lyrics. For example in The Pogues, "Fairy tale of New York", or Dire Straits, "Money for Nothing"

I think that is likely, but then that might be a very good thing.

The point is to consider it, and figure out if it was an authentic choice, and if it might be healthier to change, rather than stick to it out of 'vanity' or maintain some personal advantage.

What is "hard work" to you?
January 9, 2025 at 2:35 PM
Yeah, that one is I think indeed more inappropriate and lacking in serious depth.

The song I wrote (which I'm pretty critical of tbh), contained the line:

"The flowers that grow here, grow from the ashes of your heart"

It was also consciously (though not with full realisation) about myself, and my transition in terms of being transgender.

This was exactly what I was aware of before I chose the name "Fire Healer".

There's nothing new here, it's ancient, it is life and death, and then life again.

Fire itself, of course requires destruction of something, to exist.

It is not inherently bad though.

The destruction is not wholly good either. Naturally, it's just is part of a cycle.

I do not rejoice in destruction. It is not cool, or a form of justice.

My artist name was *never* appropriation, or something I simply thought sounded 'cool'.

In the first instance, I was making 'mouth music', singing in tongues, and when I played a recording back, I heard the words "Fire Healer".

I then wrote the rest of the song based on the cycle.

I was 17 and went to a friend's house where they were sitting around watchiVHS tape of some guy on stage telling the audience to "SHUT UP!", spinning around, and this bonkers but genius music coming out of the speakers.

It was All That Glitters Is A Mare's Nest. That was my introduction.
