This black ghost knife fish is naturally shy. If you come into the shop, try peering into his cave to see if you can catch a glimpse of his white nose not quite peeking out.

This grouchy lady has earned a tank to herself. She even managed to show the same side to the camera in both photos! We call her Oscar but her forever home can name her whatever you like.

He is "salty" that the crystalwort won't support him floating. He keeps falling through the green mat at the top, so he has to ham it up a different way!

That being said I really think if we're gonna have the "bring back third spaces" discussion we should really invest in library/zoo/aquarium combos. Like a Pizza Hut/Taco Bell situation but I get to read a book or play a TTRPG while some huge fish hang out nearby. That would rule.
I think really intricate aquariums are the coolest thing that I never want to own.
