i went to my local gem fair today, and i got two minerals i’ve been looking for for a while, aquamarine and sapphire! they both were pretty cheap compared to what i often see online, and raw sapphire is impossible to get online. (left is aquamarine, right is sapphire)

starting off with my favorite mineral, emerald. this is a very low grade emerald, which is my favorite kind, that i got for $10 at a local gem faire. i have some other samples of emerald in the same host rock, but i'll start with this one.

sculpting an enceladean
had to do a careful procedure to add an armature, waiting for it to get back to room temp to refine the details again. probably not gonna bake that well, but it's my first piece, i want to preserve it
