ALERT: You are wonderful and you deserve to be loved.

Teachers are generally not assigning homework because they care about an 8th grader's thoughts on the Pelopenisian war. They want you to think about the material. Using AI to write your homework is like calling an uber in a bike riding class: You get from point a to b but missed the point entirely.

That's possible. I'm not downing ebikes, I just ended up selling it to a friend and going back to my regular bike though. Easier to get up the stairs and doesn't take up as much space, plus a friend gets to use it now
flabberghaster.bsky.social
I love ebikes in theory because I love to not drive, so I got one thinking it'd be a great way to get around. And it was, kind of, but I still ended up pushing at a pretty hard effort just as habit from regular biking and I end up getting just as sweaty as if I'd regular biked but with less cardio 😔

Why do childless people need to be taxed *more* and not just raise taxes on everyone? Why is fecundity a factor at all in this? Bizarre quiverful type wonkery.
flabberghaster.bsky.social
Usually like this poster but this idea is controversial because it sucks in numerous ways. Oh well.
opinionhaver.bsky.social
My most controversial take on this is probably that while I think reproductive freedom should be sacrosanct, I don’t really have any problem with additional taxes on (high income) childless people. Someone gotta pay into the pensions!

In 10 days my module The Door in Murex Canyon releases via @spacepenguinink.bsky.social. A small hex crawl and dungeon in a far future post apocalyptic industriazal wasteland. Dualstated for B/X d&d and Cairn. Perfect to convert to any dungeon crawler. Check out @itsjustgart.bsky.social cover art!
A partial color illustration in black, white, and purple. A hulking mostly mechanical figure will bull horns, a sword, and a poncho along side what appears to be a pointy eared elf with a staff gaze upon a massive mechanical door at the bottom of a natural stone wall. Text atop the illustration says The Door in Murex Canyon, a 5th level adventure for BX and cairn. It's credited to Condrey, Crader, and Gilraine.

Even the idea of teaching critical thinking skills would easily be latched on to as the next "the woke left are brain washing kids" scare just like critical race theory and DEI did. Even "woke" itself was just "be aware of what's going on" to start with.

It is so demoralizing that every time o have used AI at work, it doesn't work well. And every time a co worker uses it and I have to be involved, the AI didn't work well. But my bosses are demanding that we all integrate AI into our work.

I'm on there! I like it! The only reason I'm on here is network effects, most news type people I want to follow are here not there.

Discoverability is the main downside to it tbh. But I like it a lot better.

We need our own thing that doesn't depend on people who are very vocal about their desire to turn on us.

It's so annoying to me that "the left" so often ends up in places where the people in charge clearly hate us. The bluesky people are embarassed of being the place where trans people and leftists ended up. The dems, the party of the left, clearly hate being the party of gays, browns, and hippies.

The next dem president, if we ever have one, must federalize every GOP national guard and station them in empty warehouses twiddling their thumbs. They don't get to move a muscle unless we say so. Republican states don't get to do anything without the permission of their local antifa field marshal.

Yeah I know, i'm just joking around on the information superhighway.

forum wars took over the government. the 10,000-page thread spilled out into the streets. people are getting their doors blown open and hogtied so that nerds can win an online argument. they tanked the dollar and fucked the economy permanently to own you

Yeah I can see why someone going through withdrawal might think "Maybe if I do this while in a coma i can get my withdrawal done without having to feel like crap." It's horrible. Sadly benzo withdrawal doesn't work that way. It and alcohol are about the only common types of withdrawal that can kill.

If Pritzker were a real man he'd order the Illinois National Guard to sack Austin but he doesn't have the guts.

That was under her watch I believe.

I don't want to throw around Munchausen's by proxy allegations, but like... Everyone is getting sick around her all the time. It makes a body wonder is all.

A lot of us have fun posting online but it seems to have trapped our political elites in an illusory prison and made our business elites believe they're summoning a new god by sacrificing immense quantities of rare earth metals, energy, and they hope, our livelihoods.

It's like a pulp fantasy novel

Read this thread from a great Portland reporter! The New York Times running this story today is absolutely calculated. It has been positioning Portland for years as a progressive villain. Also: why send a reporter from the Bay when the NYT has at least two reporters who actually live in Portland.

This article has a lot more important problems so I feel stupid saying this…but umm…the Mercury wrote and published the first major article about the DSA councilors back in June. Of course it isn’t the local reporting linked or mentioned here.

I used to like to order a small black coffee and then sit in the coffee shop for three hours using the wifi before I had internet at home.

Actually she's not having a massive meltdown. She's actually playing 5d chess, pretending to want to alienate the usefbase that made this place what it is, to further some other goal. She's five steps ahead, you just don't understand a true master at work.

average democrat, speaking "to" ice goons: We know this isn't what you signed up for, and we're here when you're ready to join us and work for a future together.

It's been "two weeks" since your last violent outburst? And this guy saying that in public, on purpose? We're a nation governed by violent teenagers.

It's frustrating to me that people settled on bluesky after the waves left twitter, because when Jack Dorsey was first funding bluesky the explicit purpose was they would let people handle their own moderation, so that they wouldn't have to ban the Nazis. Not having to moderate was the entire point.
