If you'd prefer you can try swapping it out for a fantasy setting going through that stage of civilization. Elves in green fatigues armed with artisnal infantry rifles and stick grenades fighting in fae woodlands over strategic resources.

A fun side effect of the small grace system I had to add to make stopping to cast spells feel responsive is that I added slidecasting completely by accident.
