I don’t think the game ever really changes in that respect, it’s all cyclical to some extent.

agree on all of the above. do think people have been a bit unfair on him generally, and that he has done an ok/selfless job for the benefit of the team. the rest—he is what he is.

I think it’s more that we played for half a season with Mikel Merino up top and were fairly obviously bereft up top. it was an issue while Havertz was still fit and playing well. we played him into the ground because we had no alternatives. the change is really the resurrection of Gabby Jesus.

I am serious about this though. feel like literally every game is so high stakes in the league and CL. it was nice to just enjoy a game for what it was today. as well as seeing some of the broader squad. it would be very helpful therefore if we could draw someone appalling. dire perhaps. execrable.
